The WIN(Women In The NAACP) Committee of the Dothan Wiregrass Branch #5025 of the NAACP sponsored “coats for kid’s”. “Coats for Kids” is a campaign that benefited the children of the Headstart Program, which included the school districts of Dothan, Ashford, Webb, Cottonwood, and Rehobeth. The campaign was very successful. WIN collected and distribute the coats to the children with the assistance of the school’s staff until December 17, 2007. WIN was able to give 176 coats to children and as an added bonus, WIN was also able to give over 200 coats to adults. Thanks to Cochran, Cherry, and Givens Law Firm for donations, Swiss Cleaners cleaning the coats for free, a Sears discount on the purchase and Beautiful You and Mrs. Troutman for coat racks to hang the coats. |
